1998 Other Toyota Models Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My Toyota Gaia engine stops when idling or when applying accelerator cable, it jerks and then stops. I have to try 3 or four times and then it picks up. I have replaced fuel pump and fuel filter and have changed the transmission oil, but the problem still continues. What could it be? Sometimes it doent pull on a hill.

Check and test the mass airflow sensor and throttle position sensor
