I have to replace the catalytic converter on my 1997 Tacoma. A friend said that just clearing the code after replacing it wasn't enough and I should pull the positive battery cable and touch it to the negative battery post for several seconds to put the computer into a learning mode. He is very knowledgeable, but I would like to double check this info. Thank you.

Disconnecting the battery will for sure reset the computer
no need to touch the cable after disconnecting it
just by disconnecting the battery will reset all
