Engine Mechanical problem
1986 Toyota MR2 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I bought a 1986 toyota mr2 a few months ago. It was working fine until three weeks ago. I started to hear a very slight grinding sound whenever I would push in the clutch. The sound has gotten alot worse. Now when I push in the clutch it makes a terrible grinding sound and will not shift into gears properly. If I pump the clutch multiple times while shifting into first it will go, but still has the grinding noise whenever I shift. any suggestions?

Hi there,

This would normally be a faulty thrust bearing, you will have to remove the box to inspect this and the clutch assembly for any problems.
