2005 Toyota Matrix check engine light came on

Check engine light recently came on. This vehicle currently has a recall out on it. Toyota says to wait till we get the official recall in the mail. Just curious if this could have anything to do with this recall. What to do?

Engine light just means vehicle computer has detected a fault and stored a trouble code, go to your local auto part store and ask them to scan trouble codes for you. Post code(s) you get here and I will follow up
