Hi

I have a 99 Land Cruiser Colorado, 4x4, 3ltr turbo, and 180000 miles.

When driving in 4th and 5th and if I give some acceleration, the engine revs high and and gives no power to the drive.

Is the clutch on the way out? or will a full oil change solve it?

Thanks

Hi there,

Yes i would say that the clutch is just about stuffed.
Aquick test is to start the engine hand brake on, select st gear and with a little throttle try and drive off, the engine should stall , if it lugs on a bit the clutch is slipping.
