Need to reset it. Try removing negative battery cable for 10 minutes then reconnecting.

My 1995 4.2 litre diesel manual model has a rubber plug in the glass just to the bottom of the tacho . remove the plug and insert a small flat blade screwdriver into the hole . if you look directly behind the hole you will see a small button .push this with the screwdriver to reset the timeing belt light . be shore to have the engine running or it may not reset .
