When I am braking to slow down to stop or slower traffic, my brakes squeek and seems to be getting louder. There are times, however, when I step on them hard that they don't squeek. My husband thinks there is just dust in them. Is this a problem? What do I need to do?

Hi jodanchrist,

Get brakes checked for worn pads. The pads are equipped with a metal strip indicator and this willl cause some screeching noise when the pads are almost worn off.
If the pads are still thick, it is as what your husband said, brake dust accumulated. It could be due to inferior quality brakes pads used.
