Last nite, I had to jump my Highlander. In the dark, I confused the leads from the car I was jumping to the Highlander and actually turned the Highlander over with leads crossed.

The car now will crank - starter seems fine - but it won't start. It has gas. It also will not come out of park without using the override switch on the transmission.

ALSO - I cannot get anything from my code reader - it won't even come on. This makes me wonder if the PCM has been destroyed in the process.

HELP!

Hi emccrory,

Thank you for the donation.

Must have been a great deal of fireworks when the cable was crossed jumped.

Check for blown main and other fuses at underhood and underdash fuse box. Hopefully you have not fried the ECM.

Actually, not really - its a long story but in the dark and in the mist of frustration, it was an honest mistake (have the felt termial washers on the my Hyundai and I have the red washer on the negative terminal and the green washer on the postive so you can imagine what happened.)

I have isolated the main 140A fuse - and through some luck - I figured out how to get the main fuse block apart and get the crazy thing out. UGH.

I only see one other specific fuse blown and yes, I am also hoping the PCM is not fried.

I have replaced the main fuse, and the guages jumped to life along with the PCM. It cranks but will not fire.

I have a "set" of 6 P codes - P0351-036 - all Ignition Coil failure. Assuming it was simple as that (but expensive) I have ordered a set of new ignition coils, but could there be something before the coils that I am missing? Wouldn't I have a different code than those?

Need to get this thing running!

Reset the ECM first.

When those codes appears, fuel cut happens.
Check for power supply to the coils and test the coils and spark plugs for sparks
