Enigine overheat light comes on while driving. Took it to the dealer and replaced T-stat, Checked water- ok pump, Rad - flowing fine, Heater core - No obstructions. The interior heat takes a long time

You probably have to get them to block and pressure test the system to find out what's going on.

thanks Rasmataz...the dealer said "needs a headgasket repair and said it better to replace used engine that is 1100 dollars and labour is 1800...and I will be broke..:-)

This engine is like new..I take good care of it...dont dirve rash..etc..my instinct says he is wrong and need a second opinion..could it be heater core valve...while driving after some time the "engine overheat light comes on" but when I stop at the stop sign the light goes off . Then after some time the light goes on and again stops flashing at a stop signal..

Get it block and pressure tested somewhere else
