my idle is high and my cooling system fan is not working

For the high idle.

Check:
-vacuum leak
-dirty throttle body
-maladjusted idle screw
-Faulty idle air control valve

With regards to the fan, check your fuses first, relay, fan motor and finally temperature sensor.
