I am Toyota Cressida 1979-80 model Having Engine 18R.
In Idle condition engine sound good no sign of any leak but when I drive specially with load (more than on person in car) I hear sound kind of leak just front of driver bonut side. Even I have change all hose pipes and also place new gasket between intake manifold and carburator but still there is sound of leak.
Due to this leak engine idle speed get increase after little drive and engine power is getting poor on road after 40 km.
Please help me how I can trace this leak.

Regards
Rizwan

Did you check the brake booster?

That uses vacuum too.

Yes you are correct, when I bought this car its brake booster was leaking vacuum due to brake oil penetrated inside booster.
I changed new booster and all hose pipes too and still my brake paddle is quite hard this is another big problem for me which I can not solved yet.

Now I am feeling that there is some corelation b/w compression vacuum leak and booster problem.

My car has Vacuum meter (vacuum manifold) insteade of RPM meter. Due to this leak I do not know where it is, I can not pickup normally I have to accelerate my car very slowly to reach upto 80km or more. If I try normal acceleration my Vaccume meter goes to dead vaccume limits.

I have changed all electrical parts of my car including ignition coil and spark cables, Distributor cap + rotor.

Please help me how I can trace out this leak. Literally I hear sound of leak (like spilling water from leak water pipe) when car pickup from gear 1 to gear 2 and 3. On gear 4 speed I can not hear becuase of other sounds of air and engine. And also feel vibration in my steering due to this.

Please help.
