1983 Toyota Cressida Charging system

When I run the car it runs off the battery till it is dead. With a charged battery it will run with the lights on. When the battery runs low if you turn on the lights the car will die. I have already had the alternator checked it is good. How do I isolate the problem?

I do not know the amperage. I had it checked at a parts store and they said it was within the parameters.
