On the last oil change, I was advised that the head gasket was liking oil. I have had every single service done in a timely manner on this car. The cost for the repair is around $1,000 I thought Toyota was high quality and with all services done, I would not have this type of problem. Please advise if is normal to have this type of problem?

Hi there,

Toyota motors are as a rule very reliable units, but like all things mechanical things can go wrong. Now depending on where and how bad the oil leak is, that you have not advised. If it is just a weeping leak and not making a big mess or causing any real concern, leave it alone. This is not that uncommon and some unscruplous work shops will advise strongly to have it fixed. It might just be a rocker cover gasket, go get a second opinion, it may just be something very minor.
