Since last one week the enigine oil warning indicator was blinking on the dash board of my 2000 Toyota Corolla. In fact it was my mistake to skip the last regular oil change after every 3000 miles. The engine was making lot of noise, the oil change light was blinking but No check engine light. Today I took the car for oil change. The noise was abruptly lessened after the oil change and also the oil change warning went off. I asked the technician to replace the serpentnine belt too as it had few cracks. But I was highly disheartened by technician. He said the car is going to die in near future as there is no point in spending money on the car. He said the engine is severely damaged as because we drove the engine with so low engine oil. But he was unable to point me out exactly what problem he is talking about. I was also suggesting me to sell off the car if possible.
Here is the present condition:
1. The car is driving well
2. Noise is very less
3. No engine oil indicator
4. No check engine indicator when driving the car
can anyone please help me out by clarifying whether the technician was correct?
Quick response is appreciated.
