Gear shift

I have a 1995 Toyota Carolla with 120,000 miles on it. My problem is that, while I am driving in 5th gear, it oftens pops out into neutral. I can easily shift it back into 5th. Gear but then I have to hold it there so that it doesn't pop out again. It only does this in 5th. Gear, especially when I accelerate. Can you help me?

Could be the shifter isn't getting it all the way into gear, or more likely the transmission needs to be repaired internally.
