Could I put a ratchet shifter on my 1994 Corolla? OR should I just do a 5 speed swap?

We only recommend direct fit parts. With computers, sensors. If you change from an automatic to standard trans, there will be problems.

In addition you must take the engine management system, sensors, actuators and PCM from the manual set-up-to include the clutch pedal assy/MC/servo-etc its not easy but can be done-

I did it once on a ford maverick hardest thing is cutting the floor board so the shifter can go through and the boot will still attach.
