Door Light

My sons 1990 Toyota corolla's door light comes on and remains on when the door is shut and goes off when the door is open. Also the dome light for the drivers door doesn't come on when the door is opened. Any thoughts on what may be causing this?

I think the door open/close function works in reverse order. probably you need to reverse the function. Is it working in same manner when you open and close other passenger doors.

If you have a electrical back ground you can do it yourself, open the door switch and explore with a meter the operation of the pin switch.

Otherwise go to a auto electrical shope to get it repaired.
It should not be a costly repair. Get qotation before start.
