How to change the alternator belt?
It doesn't have the bolt to loosen the belt like the older cars, so I have no idea how to get it off.

P.S. I did try to donate but it kept telling me to try again, several times

HI there,

Back off alternator pivot bolt 14mm bolt at top of alternator. Back of lock bolt 12mm at adjuster, this is the short bolt that goes through the adj bracket onto the alternator, back off long adjusting bolt, to slacken belt, you bay have to pull on the belt to swing the alternator as you slacken the adjuster bolt. To re fit is reverse procedure but be careful not to over tighten the new belt.

Motor oil diminishes in a weeks time usually after driving uphill but oil level normal on flat road driving. What seem to be the problem> eshaust smoke is white during warm up and no signs of oil drip or leak.

Hi there,

If the oil is not leaking externally, then it must be going out the exhaust. Check spark plugs for any signs of oil burning, a dirty build up of deposits will indicate oil consumption, also lack off regular oil changes and the wrong oil will result in low oil levels. The white smoke can indicate water in the combustion, keep a close eye on the coolant level and remember, that a temp gauge will only work if there is water around the sender, so very low coolant levels wont always equal high temp readings.
