Hello,
I got my car a year ago "new". My engine/ transmission is making a squeaking / ticking sound. My mechanic told me that my transmission fluid is dirty...I havent dealt with that yet, can the dirty transmission cause any long term damage that may lead to a ticking or squeaking noise?

It should still be under warranty? Take it to a dealer.
The dirty fluid is a ploy to get your money, Toyota uses a synthetic fluid which the factory says never needs to be changed "under normal driving".

I would have the dealer look at it, might be a bad CV joint, wheel bearing or a brake issue.
