Hello guys! A couple of days ago this noise started when I turned the engine of my car on in the morning, it keeps going for a few minutes while I accelerate and after 4 or 5 minutes the noise is gone. It only happens the first time I turn on the engine in the morning. I looked for the source of the noise and I am almost sure that it comes from the serpentine belt. Do you think a "dry" belt could be the reason? I've been told to buy a spray to moisture the belt. Does it work or is there any other way to stop the noise? Thank you guys! Take care.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Spraying any type of belt dressing is a bad idea. That actually makes things worse by gumming all the pulley grooves up. Usually a belt that is glazed is what makes noise so I would suggest to just change the serpentine belt with a new one.. Here is a tutorial showing how to change a serpentine belt:

I've also attached a belt diagram for you car below in case when you take it off you forget how to route the new one. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
