2006 Toyota Corolla Broken Fuel Pump?

When I tried starting my car the other day, it wouldn't start, we tried jumping, w/ no luck. There was no arc from the spark plug wires to their harness, so that made me think it might be the distributor. But, when we opened up the fuel line, and tried to start it, no fuel pumped out. Is my fuel pump the source of my troubles?

Hi KLCTexas,

The fuel pump requires the distributor to operate. If no sparks, get it solved first.

So how can I tell if my distributor is the problem or if it is the alternator, because I have been putting a severe strain on my alt for the last ten months.

The alternator has nothing to do with the distributor during cranking.

Hi KLCTexas,

Since you mentioned no sparks, so the first is to check for power supply to it.

If power supply is available, then most probably either the igniter or coil is faulty.
