2005 Toyota Corolla Service

I understand about draining the fluid and replacing the filter. The newer service that is being pushed at some shops is a flush. They say it is the only way to replace all of the fluid and do the job right. What used to cost $50 to have a transmission service is now be quoted at $175. Is this necessary?

Read your owners manual. While a cooling system flush may be required, the transmission, does not call for one if car is driven normally.
Follow owners manual, not suggestions given by a shop.
