I would like to know IF and HOW the engine could be damaged if the timiing belt fails on this vehicle.

Also - How frequently should the timing belt and water pump be replaced?

Thanks!

The 2003-2008 Corolla doesn't have a timing belt; a timing chain is used instead. It should last the life of the vehicle. There is no set interval for replacing the timing chain or water pump.
