the cruise control keeps coming off. it works for a while first ten miles. then it keeps popping off.mile on then a mile off

Cruise will only work above a certain speed, around 40.

It is also dependant on coolant temp and other sensors and gear selection.

Make sure the brake switch is working, it will not work if brake switch is bad.

Could also be the cruise switch, vacuum leak.
