I recharged the compressor in my G/F's corolla this is a task that I have done hundreds of times on my own vehicles. and just so you know i am not a green horn i have done it on 5 s-10's that i owned 2 silverado's 1 f-150 and one f-250 that i owned myself. I charged her car on Saturday her dad noticed it making a loud noise on the following friday and it is a roaring sound. and it gets louder and quieter kinda like a whooping sound. at least that is what they described to me over the phone as i am out of town on business and will not be returning for a few months. supposedly it only makes the sound if the fan is on it but i had a friend of mine go look at it and he says tha compressor is making the noise and is shaking badly. appaerntly it only makes the sound if the fan is on. as the compressor on this car can be turned on with or without the fan on. what might the problems be here i am thinking maybe the compressor is freezing up or the bearing could be bad. what suggestions might you have? I need to do more investigation to see what could be wrong but i am hoping that the compressor does not need changed right now.

Hi lanky1984, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Sounds like the compressor is on its way out-locking up could be due to lack of oil
