2003 Toyota Corolla Car Alarm

I disconnected the battery so I could change a light bulb & now the car wont start & the alarm goes off when ignition is on. There is an alarm in it, but we cant use it because we chose not to have it, even though some of it is there. My question is what do I do to get the car to start & stop this alarm from going off.
