2002 Toyota Corolla fan

I think a rat got under the hood(signs of nuts being chewed on) ... now the fan makes a rattling noise, like there is debris in there somewhere...how do I access it to see?

remove glove box and trim, fan is located from under air box, three screws and electrical loom. motor should with draw with out much problem,
