Hi, I have a Toyota corolla 5 door vvT3 and am getting a clicking sound when driving that resembles the teeth of a hair comb being flicked slowly with the thumb nail, more noticeable when in fith gear. It is almost like an oversound against the engine noise (which is normal when reved from idle) and increases in speed when acceleration is applied. Is this normal, or is it to do with the gearbox?
Best regards
Keith

Check CV joints for rips tears in boots first.
Check motor/trans mounts. Fluid level in trans.
If all checks out, it may be clutch as opposed to trans.
