I took my car to have the brakes checked because when I stop at times (not always), there is screeching coming from under the front of the car. The brakes were checked twice and I was told they were okay. They drove the car but said they did not get the screeching sound. I know I'll probably have to take the car to the dealer but I wanted some idea up front of probable causes of the screech.
Note: It's not scrubbing but sqealing. Please help!

If you are able, remove wheels and spray the rotors and pads with brake clean, you may have some debris between the pad and rotor (like a small rock) that is causing the noise.
Pads could be glazed, rotors could have grooves worn into them.

Toyota will probably want to change rotors and pads, and it will cost several hundred dollars.

I'm not a mechanic myself but I agree with him that it might be caused by debris. Check if there's something stuck in between the wheels. It's good to have your car checked atleast once a month.
