Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Toyota Corolla Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles

The engine has been consuming the engine oil at 2,000 miles during the period in between the last 2 oil changes. No external leak was detected. Prior to that, last oil change was at 4,000 miles. Engine flush was performed then and driving belt replaced.

Mechanic told me it would cost less than $1,000 to open and tear down the engine. Estimates for replacing valves and piston rings range under $2500.
