If a CV joint is gone , will the engine just rev and put no power to front wheels. My daughter got a blow-out drove for a couple miles to a safe place. Called me , I changed tire , when she got in to drive away the engine just revved no power to wheels, Would the vibration make the CV joint bad

Hi Bob Brophy,

No, if vibrations can get the CV joints to go bad, then no cars would be safe.

Was it just a blow out or did she hit something? When gears were engaged, was there any grinding noise?

See if there is enough ATF. Look for leakages where the vehicle was parked, might have a dislodged driveshaft inner joint or hurt the trans ATF pan..
