Hi! I have 2000 Model Toyota Corolla Rxi, and this morning I just realised my handbrake lever suddenly has play in it, which wasn't the case before, it's always been tight & safe. I pulled the hand brakes up and attempted to drive while the brakes are on, and the brakes don't work properly anymore...the car can still move with the hand brakes on!

Would you perhaps know what could be the problem, I'd like to get it fixed as soon as possible???...A car without brakes is like a coffin on wheels...

Either the cable broke or detached from the lever.

Look under rear of car to inspect cable.
