when i press on brake pedal to shift the button on side of shifter wont disengage.i checked brake lights are working. all fuses are good.i am using the small override button to drive the car.need help.

If you have verified that the brake lights are working, then your probably looking at a bad actuator solenoid and it would have to be access and tested first.
