1999 Toyota Corolla Problem Closing Car Hood

1999 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

Released the hood by pulling the hood release lever inside the car. Hood opened fine but now I cannot close the hood tight again. The release lever inside the car remains partly open and the cable attached to the release lever is not tight.

Use silicone spray to lubricate lock, make sure it moves freely, if cable is streached replace it, or you won't be able to open hood.
