Last night I was trying to turn around in a court but there were cars parked in the way and I had to back up and inch out multiple times. It was dark and my back window is tinted so I scraped up onto a curb while backing. Immediatley on acceleration after I hit the curb the car was making a loud rattling/grinding sound. It's hard to explain what the sound is but the car accelerates and stops and drives normally besides the loud noise on acceleration. What could this be and how do I fix it?

A look at the hu cap might reveal a crack.

I don't know what an hu cap is. I called a repair shop and told my story and they said it could be the muffler. So I went to a muffler shop and they took a look and it turned out that the pipe was all bent up and the donut? Was crooked. So he fixed that. BUT. He said the noise the car was making was coming from the engine area and NOT the back of the car. The noise is gone but I'm not sure if I should still be worried.

If the pipe was bent, it was hitting parts it should not have been in contact with, if the pipe is now in it's right location, and the noise is gone, problem back there is solved.
