I have a 98' toyota corolla and a was recently in a small fender bender and now when I turn on the car and put it in gear (forward or reverse) it vibrates and it stops when I accelerate. I was thinking engine mounts but thought it could use a second opinion

Could be a mount or bent bracket. Best thing to do is get the car raised and inspect the damage to see any obvious damage.
