Hi,
I own a venerable 98 Toyota Corolla. I recently had the front end repainted and the guy who did the job decided to power wash the engine bay.

Since then, I've had to replace the sparkplugs & wires, the starter. And I've noticed the radiator fan starts up as soon as I turn the key to acc and it never stops! I'm afraid this will bring on more troubles.

I've tested the relay and it's good. I'm wondering where the faulty engine heat signal is coming from. Is there a sensor I can check?

Help!

Clean the fan switch connector with an electronics cleaner.

If you were to disconnect the fan switch, the fan would run all the time, sort of a guard against overheating if the fan switch fails.

If, after cleaning it it still runs, replace the fan switch.

Do not powerwash any engine, if you must, the engine MUST BE COLD, and you want to cover electrical connections.

It should be on the trans. Side of the head, in the thermostat housing assy. This includes the thermostat. The connector is usually white, round.
