Engine Performance problem
1998 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 123k km

Why my engine idling goes down at around 600rpm when in drive mode and while holding the brake pedal when in traffic?

Hi there,

With the engine running in gear and the brakes applied, a certain amount of engine power is lost driving the torque converter and transmission oil pump, this cause the loss of revs, this is quite normal.
