1997 Toyota Corolla steering noise

when i start my car in the mornings i hear a whinning noise when i turn the wheel its been happening for a while now maybe 10 months and the sound has been the same im getting my car checked today and ill have my mechanic check the steering out good. what do you think it is steering rack or pump?

Check the fluid level in the PS pump and inspect the high and low pressure lines for leaks, it may just be a small leak that can be repaired with a new hose.
