When you use the key to lock/unlock, does it make the same noise?

The signal is either weak (change battery) or the receiver in the car is bad.

I changed the battery in the keyless entry then I tried to reprogram it. I got the noise to stop but is still wont unlock or lock the car. If I hold down the unlock button it will trigger the alarm and then lock the doors but that is all it will do
