1996 Toyota Corolla stuck oil filter

i am trying to change the oil in my mother in laws car. who ever changed ir last really got the oil filter on tight. i've tried every thing i can think of. any tips on how to loosen it up?

Hi sgakin,

If the filter wrench fails, the lastt resort is to use a screw dirver and punch it into the oil filter to use as lever for loosening it.

Care must be taken not to damage the filter mounts.
