My independent machanic is about to check out my '95 Corolla, that continues to have a Check EGR light go on and off, along with lack of power on hills.
HOWEVER, I'm beginning to consider a 450 cc Honda Motorcycle as an alternative to fixing this 13 year old car that has been my daily commute vehicle.
Ignoring the problems of weather, hauling capacity, airconditioning, etc. Is a 38 mile commute on a 450 street bike (NOT Ninja, NOT viper, Not a bullet bike)
reasonable?
Any advice would be helpful.

PS: Gas has just jumped to $3.46/gallon here in SE Ohio! Ouch! That's what's making me consider this.

Yes a 38 mile commute is quite reasonable on a bike, my father used to ride a bike 40 miles to work, 40 back. And would use up 2 gallons of gas!

I am considering doing the same thing, and keeping my vehicle just for special trips for hauling, winter, and stormy days!

I would say its a reasonable ride on a bike.
