Hello,
It sounds like the issue is a faulty idle air control valve (IAC).
The IAC is located on the throttle body (see diagram below).
It controls the vehicle idle speed. Malfunctioning IAC can cause engine to stall at idle, sometimes when the throttle has been released.
A dirty IAC can also impact the way the engine idles.
A good first step would be to service the IAC by cleaning out all the dirt and debris buildup inside.
