1994 Toyota Corolla RE: Car stuck in PARK mode, cannot mov

I tried starting my car today and it will not move from the PARK mode, so I'm stuck. I had a friend give it a try and he tried rocking the car forward and that didn't work, nothing works. Got any ideas what this might be? (Seems like a spring is broken in there, is my best guess).

1. check if you have brake light when u step on the brake
2. check brake light switch and fuses
3. check shifter lock solenoid
