Hi there,

You do not have universal joints in a front wheel drive car, you have CV joints which can be confused with a uni, now these will not normally be affected in this way, but if the rubber boots are damaged they could be noise. they normally knock when driven on full steering lock, this is when they are under load.

Hello,

Since your vehicle does not have u-joints, no.

Now, if you replaced you CV Axle with a used one then Yes it is possible since you don't really know if it had any problems to begin with.

However, usually when a CV Joint starts to go bad there is a clicking noise and sometimes heard more when turning then when driving a straight line.

If the noise is not a clicking sound and is more of a grinding or roaring then it could be the Wheel Bearings or the Tranny Bearings were the CV Axle goes into the Tranny.
