Transmission problem
1993 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 174K miles

Gentlemen. My Daughter just bought a 1993 Toyota Carolla. She took it to her Mech,(Good but not An Automatic repair Tech) for the most part it seems to shift OK. But the Fluid is very dark & thick. We asked him to change the Fluid & Filter, and he said He would not advise it. Said that it looks as if had never been changed since it was bought, and that he has seen this done before and , and for some reason it usually disables the Xmission. What are your thoughts on this?. Seems to me that this Gunk needs to be flushed out andf changed. Thanks for your answer. Larry Helton USA

Hi there,

Get the transmission serviced there is no reason why it should not be done.
