1. Check your brake /tail light bulb. You might be using the wrong kind of bulb. When you step on the brake, the brake light +12V is shorted to the tail light wire causing the brake light and the tail light to turn on. Tail light is connected to the dash lights.
2. Check for shorted wire between the brake light and the tail light on the rear.
