1992 Toyota Corolla speed does not work

Driving along the other notice speed gauge needle move up and down , then went back to zero while reckon do 60km/h and fro that never move no reading

The speedometer is driven by two cables. The lower cable usually fails (breaks) at the transmission connection.

Remove the lower cable at trans. Then at connection to upper cable. Toyota sells replacement cables $60 or so if memory serves.

You will have to remove the intake and air cleaner housing to get good access to the cable.
