HELLO I HAVE A 92 TOYOTA COROLLA AND ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO I REPLACED MY PASANGER SIDE AXLE, NOW MY TORQUE CONVERTER JUST WENT BAD AND MESSED UP THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION, SOMEBODY TOLD ME THAT A BAD INSTALATION OF THE AXLE CAN CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO GO BAD I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND TIME!!

Hi there,

This is not the case, even if the axle seal was faulty and you lost all the oil, the diff on autos is independent to the trans so even this will not normally affect the trans directly.

As Mark said, the differential has its own lubricant supply.

If the differential was not refilled after axle install, it's not the convertor that is bad, it's the differential due to lack of lubrication.
