Hi, can you tell me where to locate the idle air control valve and also give me step by step instructions on how to check it. Also can you give me step by step instructions on where the base timing is and how to locate it and how to set it. Thanks.

IAC is under the throttle body and is also connected to coolant. Remove and clean is the best thing to do.

Base timing is set by using an inductive timing light and short Te1 and E1 of the diagnostic port.
This will cause engine light to flash every second and removes all computer advance. Set timing to 10 degrees BTDC. The marks are on the balancer and a pointer on the block.
